There are many different pump valve types available to enable control of fluid flow rate by changing the size of the flow passage. Pump valves also help control the direction of flow, pressure, temperature and liquid level.
Ball valves use a pivoting perforated ball to control flow of liquid. They are ideal for shutoff applications because of their longevity and durability.
Butterfly valves are similar to ball valves, but instead of a pivoting ball, a rotating disc is used to control the flow.
Check valves allow liquid to flow in one direction but not the other. They prevent backflow automatically when the fluid reverses direction. Check valves are flow sensitive, meaning they depend on the fluid line to close and open.
Solenoid valves are electromechanical devices controlled by electrical current. An energized coil creates a magnetic field which causes a plunger to move, controlling the liquid flow.
Triple-duty valves are combination valves which perform all the functions typically needed on the discharge end of pump systems. Triple duty valves save space and reduce cost by doing the work of three valves in one.
